WHY DO YOU NEED AN EPISIOTOMY?
Why do you need an episiotomy during your childbirth? The answer is NO you do not. This is one of the benefits of using the hypnosis birthing modality. But let’s explore the issue further.
What the Mayo Clinic says:
According to a mayo clinic staffer at mayoclinic.org, here is what is explained.
“An episiotomy is an incision made in the perineum — the tissue between the vaginal opening and the anus — during childbirth. Although the procedure was once a routine part of childbirth, that’s no longer the case. If you’re planning a vaginal delivery, here’s what you need to know about episiotomy and childbirth.
The Episiotomy Tradition
For years, an episiotomy was thought to help prevent more extensive vaginal tears during childbirth — and heal better than a natural tear. The procedure was also thought to help preserve the muscular and connective tissue support of the pelvic floor.
Today, however, research suggests that routine episiotomies don’t prevent these problems after all.
Routine episiotomies are no longer recommended. Still, the procedure is sometimes needed. Your health care provider might recommend an episiotomy if your baby needs to be quickly delivered because:
- Your baby’s shoulder is stuck behind your pelvic bone (shoulder dystocia)
- Your baby has an abnormal heart rate pattern during your delivery
- You need an operative vaginal delivery (using forceps or vacuum)”
Let’s Discuss Hypnosis and Birthing
I want to discuss the ability of your body. With the Natural Painfree Childbirth Program, you are taught to have your whole body anesthetized or analgesia. With anesthesia you will not feel anything, but using analgesia you have no discomfort or pain but will just know someone is working with you and you might feel pressure.
You can also chose to have no feeling between the top of your breasts and your mid thigh. This is what we recommend. This is also good for the first time you breast feed, that that can be lots of discomfort if its your initial feeding session.
Relaxation
Now what makes this anesthesia or analgesia work so well? The answer is total relaxation. I the somnambulistic state of hypnosis, you are so very relaxed and comfortable that nothing will bother you.
Now think about this, if your muscles are so relaxed they work properly to produce contractions to move your baby down the birthing canal and out for a rapid delivery. When your in pain and stressed and your muscles are tightening up and the vertical and lateral muscles are not working together, then the birthing process can take many hours.
Episiotomy
If you are so relaxed and muscles are working the right way, then you are able to birth your baby without being cut or tearing.
Do you think God would create a women’s body that is not able to deliver without being cut open? You are able to deliver a child with your body and no help from a knife or scissors. ( There are emergency measures that are done sometimes by qualified medical staff, but that is not the norm) Why do you need an episiotomy anyway?
Using the Natural painfree childbirth program, we discuss all aspects of your birthing and teach how to give yourself commands to go into deep levels of relaxation while still be fully conscious. Not requiring an epidural or spinal block to deliver.
Epidural
Did you know that the epidural drugs are so dangerous. Epidural medications fall into a class of drugs called local anesthetics, such as bupivacaine, chloroprocaine, or lidocaine. They are often delivered in combination with opioids or narcotics such as fentanyl and sufentanil in order to decrease the required dose of local anesthetic.
JAVA has reported studies to show that traces of the epidural were still present in the infant up to one year after the birth. Think about that?
Again in Conclusion
Why do you need an episiotomy? If you chose to use the hypnosis modality, you have a very short recovery period, fast delivery, and safe from drugs. This allows for instant bonding of your child and a wonderful delivery.
